Some patients have described the sensation as light tugging, pulling or pinching. We compare the feeling at the beginning of the procedure to the feeling of putting your hand in ice cold water. Initially it’s uncomfortable, but then it becomes numb. This is what happens when the applicator is placed and freezes the treatment area; since the cold is numbing the area, there is no need for anesthesia. Keep in mind that treatment areas will vary between patients and everyone has a different pain tolerance. During your procedure, you’re welcome to either sit up or lie down, and watch TV, listen to music, or read.
